I just want to make an announcement that we had a baby boy this morning (my wife did anyways, I just coached). They're both healthy and doing well. His name is Noah and other than looking like all wrinkled, he's darn cute. I just wanted to tell everyone because I spend waaay too much time on this forum and I feel so proud. One or two of you may actually care and if you don't, keep it to yourself. What an amazing miracle birth is. If anyone has any questions about having kids in Japan, you can PM me and I'll get back to you when I have more time.

Now you are just going to have to finish that degree and keep employed (somehow) as you will need all the money and work you can muster. You have double the pleasure but double the expenses now.

Hey Gordon,

Just wanted to add on to what I'm sure will quickly become a long thread of good wishes. May you and yours have lots of happiness for many years to come.

But, if you think about it, this thread isn't totally unrelated to teaching. I'm sure you're going to learn a lot from your kids -- not EFL stuff, but far more important things.

Gordon,

Congradulations. I can't wait until she learns to speak Japanese and then more Japanese people tell you they can't believe that your kids can speak Japanese since they have a western father.

Congratulations Gordon. I hope you can get a little sleep during the next year. 2 kids in Japan - you are a braver man than me.

Congratulations, Gordon. Tell me... is your son a Japanese citizen now and can he "sponsor" you for permanent residency like kids can do in Canada?

Keep up the good work!

Congratulations!

An unrelated-to-teaching thread? I'm all for more personal, getting-to-know-the-other-members threads. Makes online communication seem less faceless and anonymous.
