Does anyone know how much these guys help you with placement after the program?? I know it's a more touristy area, so is it much more expensive than other cities? I would like to get certified and stay at the beach (much like everyone else) but don't know how plausable or affordable it is. Thanks for any feedback....

UET, for being in PV, will probably be able to offer great assistance locally to find a job. PV isn't extremely expensive, and most teaching jobs there pay between 30 and 50 pesos per hour. You'll survive but you won't be able to save. That is much the same for most beach teaching. PV will be coming out of high season next week so things will be more affordable.

UET is another centre i've eyed. Any UET grads here to give the lowdown on it?
Seems quite a reasonable price. Does the certificate hold same/similat standing as ITTO? Does where you have completed your tefl cert matter too much when applying for jobs in Mexico?

Isn't UET the same school that other posters on this forum have had trouble with,the emailing them with no response for example?

I also emailed them (UET), twice but have had no response. ITTO on the other hand have kept me well informed with information. Plus the job placement is attactive. ITTO seems to be topping the tefl in Mexico charts for me right now.

And sometimes even when there are bad comments you must weigh all sides. Mexico doesn't always meet the expectations of people who haven't traveled that much and they are quick to complain when they don't find things the same as "back home".

I agree though, that any business who looks after it's clients would answer emails in a timely manner. Not saying that this is the concrete proof of a good business operation but it's an important factor. Someone emailed UET in Puerto Vallarta in early February with a quick question, and got nothing back until about 3 weeks later when the auto-responder replied with instructions to apply to the program first. Apparently a real person never did respond so that certainly does not instill confidence.

I've emailed UET twice now and no response----a little shady i think---I looked at ITTO's website again and noticed all the "extras" they offer---ej. salsa lessons, guitar, conversation tables, outings, etc. I don't think UET has any of this stuff, which, to me, are really big incentives----Looks like ITTO is winning the race here...
