Hi all-

I'm seriously considering Yeditepe University. I would really appreciate it if you can give your opinions on the school. And do any of you know if they provide housing?

Thanks a million.

As payment for the discussion could you tell us what kind of salary they were offering?

Did you get a chance to see the movie Temmuzda (Im Juli)? I absolutely agree with this line from that movie: the best things in life are free.

The thing is, I'm not an ESL teacher. I'm also not a "yabanci" Smile
The department is offering an assistant prof position, but I don't know if they provide housing. I hope this info can still be considered as payment.

No but I will do my best to.

I absolutely agree with this line from that movie: the best things in life are free.

I wish it were true but another quote that I cannot remember who the author was:

''there`s no nobility in poverty.''

The best things in life are free but you are looking to work in a private university that is controlled by Bedrettin Dalan. Seems odd.

With that salary you could live very comfortably with or without housing, couldn`t you? Seems unlikely that they would house you seeing as you are not a foreigner.

I hope this info can still be considered as payment.

Consider yourself out of debt.

I meant it as a joke, not realizing that it could be taken so seriously.

Thanks again for all your help. You know, when I came across this site I was so excited since I thought could get some honest and fair non-Turkish opinions about the university. And I did. That's all.

Will you take the job?

Who is more critical about Yeditepe, us or your Turkish friends/colleagues?

I think I will take the job.

Everyone I talk to says something different, so I'm trying to gather as many opinions as possible. I can't really say who is more critical. I guess it all depends on the experience the person has had with the place.
