Sorry if this isn't exactly ESL related, but I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge about translation work in any part of China (Taiwan & HK included). More specifically, translating documents, manuals, papers, etc from Simplified/Traditional characters into English. Is there any market or need for this type of work here? I realize it largely depends on the field of translation (automobiles, engineering, biology etc) but just in general. Or am I better off translating Chinese -> English in other countries? Thanks for any help you can give me! |

My aunt works as a translator of letters, journals, manuals of Chinese to English in Taiwan. As I remember, she said it's NT$0.80 per character. She even outsource it to some of her friends in the Philippines
I'm not sure about China though.
