Hi all,
I have posted a thread on the China-Off Topic Forum entitled "Have You Found the Bitter Roots of China's Social Malaise?"
In my second post (most recent one on this thread) I suggest that the one country to which a fair comparison can be made with China is India.
What I need to know is:
1) Does India lack a strong civic culture? In other words, do most Indians lack a sense of personal responsibility to those in society who are not their family or friends?
2) Is the civic culture in India more viable than in China, in your opinion, and from your experiences?
3) If not, do you attribute a lack of civic responsibility to daily life in a developing nation (as might be the case for both India and China) or is it the result of particular cultural characteristics?
Thanks for your input in advance. |
