Hello all,
Just wondering if anyone has any insights into Sabanci University in Istanbul that they would like to share; working environment, work expectations, pay and conditions, etc., etc.
Thanks in advance. |

Hi there ... well ... Sabancı is an awful long way out ... I lived and worked at the Ko School for a number of years ... and it sort of felt as though you're not really living in Turkey ... and what's more Sabancı is even further out than the Ko School. Having said that, at Sabancı, like at Ko, the salary, facilities and accommodation they offer, will be good. You have to decide what you want from life.
You might want to read what Molly wrote about Ko University (similarly isolated from Istanbul, but towards the Black Sea) under the thread "The Best Places to work in Turkey" to get a better insight into what it would be like living and working out there. |

it's like living in the middle of nowhere. it's right next to a factory (i remember it as a factory, i might be wrong) right off the highway. it takes about an hour and a half to get there from the european side by its shuttle bus. yes, it has a free shuttle bus and it does provide great perks, but you'd have to commute more than an hour if you want to live in istanbul. |
