Hi there.

So I've decided to spend another year living in China. As I've been in a pretty small city this year I'm interested in going somewhere a little bigger -- Qingdao, Shanghai, or Beijing. I've had a couple of problems with my school this year and I've been skimming through websites looking for my next job. I tried attending some networking events in larger cities but without much luck and skimmed some of the places on this site that people have liked, but I was hoping for some direct feedback.
So what I was hoping was that someone could recommend a school for me they've taught at in the past with decent wages and a good working environment in one of those areas. I worked at a uni for 3,000 RMB this year which is pretty low, but I'm not neccessarily looking for the highest paying job (though I'm definitely taking that into consideration.) Does anyone have a school or company in any of those cities they'd recommend I contact? I'm mostly interested in a fair workload and my living conditions. If anyone's leaving their post in the fall but had a good experience, please PM me.

There is a company I am considering moving to next year here in Shanghai, thats If I stay here another year. Its called ENGLISH SECONG LANGUAGE, It's a company placing teachers in Schools all over the Shanghai area. Good wages, nice housing, great resources and curriculum. I will pass on a sincere warning as well. Under no circumstances should you take a contract with a comapny sleazing around Shanghai that goes by the names "CCIEE-China Center for International Exchange, Shanghai Branch" or "Shanghai BSK Dalue" or even "Pacican". Check the posts under WARNING-SHANGHAI ESL COMPANY in this forum.... you will se some reasons why to avoid this company. Lets say also that 30 teachers who started this year with them, 20 are left, 1 is actually considering staying with them another year..... not a good track record!
