Do you mean Trieste in Italy? I would just be guessing but I would have thought that the cost of living in a big city like Madrid would be higher than a smaller city like Trieste, and therefore if I were you I would take the latter option. You may also find the smaller size of Trieste, which is not a very touristy Italian port, more liveable than the hustle and bustle of Madrid.

Good points/bad points would help?

Is there much of a 'beach life' in Trieste?

Will my money go further in Madrid or Trieste (rent is cheaper in Treiste, but don't know about tax or food etc)!

Please try to help.

This will be of no help whatever-- again. Go to both places. Trieste is historically rich, scenic, a weird frontier backwater from which countless families were exiled by war and for which they continue to pine today. I know, Ive met some of them. It is also the home of James Joyce-- yes I know he was born in Dublin, but he did a lot of it in Trieste. I also suspect that since it is so close to the site of the recent Balkan wars, there will be lots of shady blackmarket etc intrigue, a certain feeling in the air, if you see what I mean. It will be nothing like Madrid. On the other hand, Madrid is Madrid. Is your moniker a ChrisCraft, by any chance? Smile
