Well, I'm leaving for Japan and a job at Matty's kodomo eikaiwa in less than a week, and have been continually asking myself "am I bringing everything that I need to bring???" So, for all of you already in Japan, just out of curiousity, what (if anything) did you immediately think of and wish you had brought with you once you arrived in Japan? Pretty dumb question, but I just picture myself getting off the plane, or stepping into the classroom, or stepping into my apartment, and thinking "I wish I had brought ___"

Hmm.....

Deoderant and your favourite toothpast, and lots of it.

If you're a guy, condoms. And if you're lucky, lots of them.

If you're really big and tall, clothes.

If you're a man, condoms (even the Super Big Boy brand, with a horse on the cover, those condoms may not fit you!) and deodorant.

If you're a woman, err...I've no idea. Smile

I wish I had brought head and shoulders shampoo. isee other people on the board noted this too. Its humid here and can cause dandruff.
I also rely on gravol *dimenhydrinate* because of a weak stomach. I cant find it here. Tylenol is expensive. If you use a lot, bring a big bottle.

deodorant and condoms.
Also, photos to show people of your past life. Japanese people often find these interesting.Especially students.
I've got a bit of a beer gut, so stylish mens clothes are sometimes a challenge to find.
If you live in a place with lots of foreigners, such as Greater Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, foreign foods shouldn't be too difficult to find. You can pretty much forget about eating turkey though.
