10 more days... My house is being basically dismantled, boxes being mailed all over the place, etc. My time in Nakajo is finished.
I've had loads of good times, met some amazingly good and kind-hearted people, and truly enjoyed my job. Still, the lure of South America is too strong to resist. I will be in Chile by the end of May. I'll be kissing my savings and disposable income goodbye, but what the hell. I will be in debt until the day I die anyway, so might as well not even worry about it for a year.
I hope this doesn't sound trite, because I mean it very sincerely, but I'm sorry that I never got to meet any of you in person. You've been a very helpful and supportive community. I wish you all the best of luck and happiness.
Adios,

life`s too short. Go where you want to go.
When I was single I seriously considered going back to eastern Europe.
Now that I am married, I can`t just go anywhere where I want.
Travel is fun. |

Have a good time Denise. 2 years seemed like enough to you. I know you never really liked Japan that much, but you never whined about it. Certainly a lesson for many people.
I wish you all the best and have to say you are one of a handful of people here I'd like to meet up with for a coffee one day.
If you're ever in Vancouver in the summer, you'll have to look me up. |

Good luck Denise! Are you flying directly to Chile or are you taking a break first? I have always wanted to go there. Let us know how things turn out for you. I would love to hear about it.

Denise,
Good luck in Chile! I hope you enjoy your time there! Thanks for providing me with helpful advice before and during my time here in Japan. I hope you'll drop back in here on the board or the Latin America board every so often. Take care!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!
Gordon--Two years does seem like a very short time. If my school weren't closing, I might stick around. My job/friends and colleagues are positives that far outweigh the negatives. I really have been happy here.
