The other thread about spelling made me remember an email i was sent a while ago.
Read the text once, without scrutinising it to death and count how many letter F's it contains:
FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE-
SULT OF YEARS OF SCIEN-
TIFIC STUDY COMBINED WITH

There are 6.
Read it again.
The brain cannot, apparently, process the word "OF".
Go back and look again.
Anyone who counts all 6 "F's" on the first go is
a genius. Three is normal, four is quite rare.
For the record, i seem to remember getting 4. Damn, it would appear that i'm no genius but only 'quite rare'.  |

I am not sure I am "a genius", but I counted 6 right away, noting there were 2 'of's.
For non-native speakers it's interesting to note how close "with" comes to being counted among the 'F' words. Either you have an internal policeman stopping you, or you are a careless jaywalker. |

I don't know how far back this goes but I remember it as a kid and I am pushing 50

Well, you wouldn't expect a Baggies fan to get a joke! Actually, I think you have to repeat the two lines to get the effect.
Great escape act, though, Baggies. You'll have to wait another season to get thrashed by Wolves. |
