I cant seem to find an answer to this one...
How common is it to go over to her place, or is it pretty much assumed that should you hook up, your place is the next destination?
In my scenario, my place is not an option... roommates and all... I never been to a love hotel, but from what I hear they are real expensive real fast.
Please advise. |

First post and we have a live one.
How do you know whether its convenient for her as well? She probably lives at home with her parents, whome she is not going to bring a foreign guy back to meet her dad. Most guys dont visit her parents house unless its to get permission to marry the daughter.
Could perhaps be living in a one room apartment and may not want you knowing where she lives until you get to know her better, you are one of a string of boyfriends and it becomes a regular thing. Her house may also be an hour away in the opposite direction from where you live. Love hotels you can meet halfway and not wake up the neighbors.
Love hotels you can rent by the hour or if you stay the night it shouldnt cost more than 4 or 5 thousand yen. They are usually themed inside (western/cowboy, sporty, revolving beds, jacuzzi) so a stay in one is always an education. |

Yeap! This is a great site, i have not had to register or post for a few weeks, found all my answers through search.
The above question is not about any particular girl, but rather a generic scenario. In the states it's open ground, whoevers place is closer. Here seems everything is up to man... and this man is jobless. Love hotels are just too expensive, is there an elternative? (aside from parks and such) |

Celibacy?
How do you intend to do anything in Japan if you are jobless? If you live here, you are going to have to accept that it costs a certain amount to do things. Once here and employed, people find themselves not batting an eye at the cost of living. Wish I could be more constructive. I really don't know of any solutions to your particular problem that don't invole cash. |

Are you looking to extend conversation or just to do some mattress dancing? Seriously. What are your intentions?
Want to find a quiet place to talk the night away? Practically any coffee shop will let you sit for hours and nurse a single cup of coffee (or is spending 2 x 500 yen too expensive for you?). Karaoke anyone? (again, this will cost you) Parks are all right, but it depends on the time of year and weather conditions. What are HER favorite places? Movie? Money again. Wander a shopping mall? (and hope you don't have to buy anything except a snack) The zoo or aquarium or a museum (if you can afford the entrance fees without a job)?
I'm just as curious as Celeste about how you plan to survive without a job in one of the most expensive countries in the world, roommates or no roommates. And, you can bet if people like us are wondering, so will any generic girl. And soon. |

Well being pennyless will be difficult, the next thing other then a love hotel would be either a karaoke room or an internet cafe reading room.
Mind you they will probably kick you out and ban you if you are caught with your pants down in either... but if you can find a pretty old and quiet one then that would be your best shot.
Price range anywhere from 400-2000yen at the most for an hour (karaoke rooms can vary like crazy in prices). |

Popeye's Media Cafe...look around for it~
There are couch "cubicles" for couples with red lighting and all. I didn't take a girl there myself, just slept, but a friend brought a girl back, and a worker walked in on them sleeping nude together...the worker apologized profusely and then closed the door - the end.
Many cities have them, and there are usually overnight deals: 12-8 for 1000 yen...more for a couch cublicle though.
I travelled in Japan for 5 days last year and stayed in a different Popeye's in a different city every night - big hotels always have the info on it at reception.
Internet, free drinks (not those kinds of drinks), walls and walls and walls of comics, PS2, TV, and DVDs....
There's a shower too~ ^__^ |
