Hi,
I have been offered, and have accepted a job with the International School of Choueifat. Unfortunately, I found information about this group of schools on the forum after I had signed the contract. It has me very concerned and considering cancelling my contract. I notice that quite a few of the postings are quite old and was wondering if anything had changed? Has anybody worked for them more recently? Also, the school I have been given is in Ruwais - does anybody know anything about this school in particular?
Thanks

I take it this means you've given up on the Ras Al Khaimah option? I'm afraid I don't know much about Choueifat schools except that they've got a reputation for high academic standards but based on lots of cramming and tests, and I don't know anything about Ruwais except that it's more remote than RAK!
I hope someone can be more helpful, but good luck anyway. |

I wrote about Ruwais on this forum a long time ago and I don't thing it can have changed much. It's an oil terminal/industrial town about 250km west of Abu Dhabi, next stop Saudi Arabia. There is uncontrolled strip development along the once beautiful beaches. If I had a choice between Ruwais and RAK, RAK would win hands down.
The Choueifat schools teach to test, and test, and test. Immense pressure is put on the students and teachers. Teachers must follow the Choueifat 'methodology' - no diversion from the book/system is allowed. |
