3-Am a single female in my late 20s-but have lived/worked before in the UAE/Oman-does Doha have lots to offer?? People call it the dullest gulf country but with all this investement etc- it seems that it has a lot to offer!Surely?!

You can get a one bedroom flat for that price, and nearly all of them are fully furnished.
Life here can be difficult to start with(I suppose that is the case whereever you go anyway). I am sure you will be ok after a few months though. One thing you have to sort yourself with is the transport. It is getting very hot here and it is almost impossible to wait in the street for a taxi. I don't know which country you are coming from, but the driving licence from countries such as UK, Germany are accepted here and you can therefore apply for a Qatari one and get it no problem. Ofcourse you have to wait to get your residency sorted in the first place.
There are various clubs here with Gym, Swimming pool, restaurants etc here which are pretty good and don't cost that much compared to what they charge you for the same thing in say Europe.
There are numerous types of restaurants here from all over the world and can range from very cheap to extremely expensive. In general however eating out is alot cheaper than Europe.

Good luck

Something I forgot to add is...........that with all the development here it is a very good time to be here since a lot of money is going into the infrastructure. I mysely don't find it dull...........ok I am with my family here. I was here 10 years ago and it was very dull but not anymore.
The best way to find a flat is to get hold of Gulf Times which is published every day. It has list of all the companies there and all the details for the accommodation.

Thanks Gorgan for your useful info!!! As Youngeorge said, I posted this message in the Qatar forum (have no idea why I posted it here as well in the first place Embarassed )

I am actually coming from the UK- but was not intending on getting a car whilst I am there- I heard that taxis were plentiful though?! Nevermind, will just have to see what happens when I get there. Thanks once again Smile
