Well, be honest enough to admit to being paulie2003 and then go away.

What's that supposed to mean? Just for the record. He's not my student and wasn't my student and he's older than me.

On this thread Latinhombre aka Paulie666 makes snide remarks about Naturegirl, who's probably the most INoffensive member of the Forum (try finding anything even vaguely nasty in her postings).
Meanwhile, the man/woman of many aliases has started another thread looking for friends. What sane person would befriend someone like that?
Nevertheless, I'm glad Paulie666 is back, if only for masochistic pleasure.

Naturegirl - Are you still planning on working at the Uni after you are married? My understanding is that they do not recognize civil marriages, and hence you will be "living in sin" accoring to their beliefs, and will therefore lose your job. You apparently have to have an official catholic ceremony in a catholic church in order for the Uni to recognize the marriage.

Though I would give you a heads up. Maybe you can tell them you got married in Lima at a church, but I am sure they would want to see some kind of proof.

Good luck and keep us posted!
Flo

Hi, yeah, I just signed on for another year. WE got permission for what we are doing. Getting married now in the civil ceremony, but living apart. He in his house and me in mine until next June when we have the religious ceremony.
About the catholic thing, we don't have to get married in the catholic church to live together, just in a church. I'm not catholic

Hey naturegirl,

All the very best of luck with your upcoming nuptials (one of my favourite phrases of all time! Laughing ). I hope you have many happy years together.

Have a wonderful day.

Lozwich.

No, Latinhombre, we're not amigos. As I said, your postings amuse me in a masochistic way.
Naturegirl, keep your bouquet for Lozwich; she'll be next!

You see Graham, you claimed to be in love with your girlfriend but you're secretly hoping that Lozwich will respond positively to none-to-subtle marriage proposal...are you sure you're giving 100% in your current relationship???? Very Happy

Crazy (well she's Australian) Rainbow loving Aussies your cup of tea are they?? Oooo, cup of tea, now there's an idea...

And that's so nuts that you have to be married in an official Church ceremony in order to live together (to keep your job). I know the Andean countries are strict catholic (i lived in ecuador and saw first hand the power and destructiveness of fundamentalist catholicism) but come on...that's a bit too much i think. Living in sin is almost encouraged here in Argentina, gay marriage is even legal in Buenos Aires, girls and boys sleeping around isn't a big deal and everyone's happy...Catholicism tends to be a sort of basic idea of how you *should* live but it's not how people *actually* live.

HEY!!! I'll have you know my craziness has less to do with my Australian-ness and more to do with my British heritage, thank you very much!

Harumph.

Oh yes, lots of them. Its a bit hard to sum up, but Aussies generally have better teeth and our men wouldn't be caught dead wearing sandals with socks, two things that are fairly ubiquitous in old blighty...

Ah yes but in Britain only pathetic losers wear Speedos whereas in Oz the arrival of the new season's banana hammocks is greeted with banners everywhere proclaiming "New Speedos Here!!" (well at least in 2001 when i was there). Not sure how much actually changes in the design, maybe extra padding for the little Aussies??? Ha ha Shocked

And British heritage?? Hmmmmm makes me wonder when and why your ancestors were sent over there... Very Happy

Ahhhh, nothing like a good bit of English-Aussie banter before we thrash you in the Ashes this summer....Barmy Army, Barmy Army
