Anyone know anything about the Koren Company, new to Beijing, that goes by American School of English. Has anyone worked for them in Korea. They seem to have a lot of classrooms and few students. I guess what I am asking is " does anyone know if they are stable".

Evaforsure, I have applied for a position there a couple of months ago.
They offered me a position (if my memory serves me well) for the yearly salary of 136000 RMB (inclusive the flight). The Contract said that I would get 10500 "per session" (meaning per month because one session lasts one month according to them). I asked; "What would happen if I did not get that session in one month due to the slow business?" Well, I did not get the answer from them on that one. I believe that the female foreign academic supervisor's name was "Frytha".
With regards to the application process (prior to that "monthly salary question above asked), I sent my documentation that I was requested to send via express mail (including my Contract signed). When my documentation got to their school, they called me and asked me whether they could change a few things on my already signed Contract. I found it rather peculiar. Then, they also asked for more documentation, which they did not ask for prior to the sending of my documents. I found them higly inexperienced and fairly unprofessional. I found the Korean (female) supervisor who I spoke to once, quite unfriendly. She seemed to have cared more about my look than about my experience. She insisted that I give her an interview "via messenger" (with camera), but some schools prefer that over just a phone call. Although that Korean female manager did make me feel that I was supposed to look "handsome", never mind my qualifications and experience.
By the way, I was told that that school was in a process of changing their management and ownership at that time (March 2005). Then, I was unable to find them on the website.
Cheers and beers

I get the occasional English learner, usually male, who tells me I look "beautiful." Will that help?

I certainly think it helps that your writing skills are commensurate with that of a teacher of English.

Had to look that word up in the dictionary:

Word of the Day for Saturday May 1, 2004
commensurate \kuh-MEN(T)S-uhr-it; -shuhr-\, adjective:
1. Equal in measure, extent, or duration.
2. Corresponding in size or degree or extent; proportionate.
3. Having a common measure; commensurable; reducible to a common measure; as, commensurate quantities.
