Qatarchic, Doha doesn't even begin to compare to Istanbul. Istanbul is the premier league and Doha is the Vauxhall conference league-Does that still exist? The Marriot hotel vs Taksim. The old souqs vs the grand bazar. a walk along the corniche vs a walk next to the Bosphorous. The history of Sultanahmet vs ...... the fort in ...cant remember the name. Need I continue? Oh and don't forget the local cuisine. |

I've just re-read my last post and I feel I should be fair to Doha.
The advantages of Doha over Istanbul.
1) Better sports facilities at a more reasonable price
2) better shopping for western food
3) the weather in the winter
4) The main reason- better chance to make your bank manager happier with savings.
O kadar but I did make great friends also |

ouch! Vauxhall conference? Now I havent heard THAT league being mentioned 4 a while...........
To be honest, the only ones which would matetter to me in Qatar would be
3 & 4
and I'd also add another one:
5) Opportunity to travel to South East Asia/other parts of the Mid East
Turkey is still going to be on my list of places to work in next |
