Was this happening as you wrote your message? I just checked a Mexican newspaper on line and found no mention of it. Is it a really, really big eruption?!?

Doubtful that it's big since there's no news locally. Someone else on Dave's told me about it. The biggest eruption since I've been here was in Dec 2000...biggest in 1200 years. Anything smaller wouldn't warrant much news here since the peak has been closed off sicen 2000 anyway.
I found it interesting that an eruption here was reported on TV in Canada at the same time that a big quake was reported in Indonesia. Funny...I've also been dreaming about quakes for the last two days.

Yeah, you can see it erupting, but it happens all the time. I am not sure why it is a big deal in the news now...maybe a slow week for world news or something. Its kinda like the rain in Seattle, just something you expect will happen.
Sorry to disappoint you! |

Bizarre!!
On the news I saw, they said it was the Colima volcano rumbling again.
Or is it both? |

Nothing unusual within the last 24 hours. For those who can't see volcanos out their windows (on a clear day, I can from the roof of my office's building), CENAPRED makes it available on the web... http://www.cenapred.unam.mx. |

Yeah, I later read that it was the Colima volcano, not Popo. Sorry for the false alarm. |

Ok I'm totally confused. I've been watching it at <http://www.cenapred.unam.mx/popo/UltimaImagenVolcanI.html>
but I though it was el popo... so there are TWO? Where exactly is el popo then? |

I just read that the Colima volcano is really letting off some steam at the moment.
Anyone got any updates? |
