WHAT SHOULD I DO?

I have been threatened by a couple of �anonymous email addresses� (thugs) that recently elevated to a threat on my life. I have some leads that cannot share on the forum now and I am sorry about it, but I am attaching the email correspondence between one of the thugs and me. We�ve only exchanged a couple of emails with this thug and I must admit that have not been at my best communicating with �him�, however �he� has given me all his frustration with my participation on the forum as well as my inquiry with respect to my case of my previous employment with �a farce organization in China�.

Please to keep this post on and to get as much help in the dealing with this matter, as well as to keep it within the laws here AVOID RECALLING MY PREVIOUS POST ON THIS VERY SAME ISSUE, AND AVIOD USING THE NAME OF THAT FARCE ORGANIZATION THAT MIGHT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS THREAD ON MY LIFE. Believe me that that organization I have worked for is as ruthless as hell and willing to give troubles to anyone in order to �dominate� the market. Feel free to pm/email me.

I wouldn't say "don't worry about it", but when I was in Korea I got an e-mail from a former employer in my first year that the "Korean mafia" was looking for me.

That was funny because after three years in Korea, I entered and left Korea many times without having some thug or gangster murder me.

It's probably threats, and nothing more. However, If the writer had any brains at all, he/she would stop breaking the law. She/he is probably uneducated enough to realize what a "pathway" is that, which can tell through investigation who wrote the letter.

If you are murdered, it will be "game over" for him/her as well.

Hey, the original thread (same topic) disappeared rather mysteriously yesterday...wonder what happened. My post there, too, was a casualty.

Unfortunately, Gibson, you did exactly what they wanted you to do -- make an issue of it. It's obvious the writer has an EQ even lower than their IQ, but in this case the tail got to wag the dog.

Do what you do with a spoiled chile. IGNORE. IGNORE. IGNORE. By showing they've had an effect on you, it'll only continue.

Brsmith, had I not made an issue of it, I would have felt that I did not do my job to �inform you all�. Apparently those threads have been more common than I thought, so I acted. In any case, I shall continue on this forum, but if I don�t you�ll know why. Not that I am paranoid, but I do not want these thugs to get away with anything.

Copy and paste the threatening e-mail's header information and send it to the e-mail provider, be it Yahoo or Hotmail or what have you. They will shut down the e-mail account and/or do something drastic like contact local authority.

Tw, thanks! I have contacted the yahoo and I am hopping for their reply. I really would like to know where the freaky thread came from ( I do have a good idea though). Contacting local authorities is something that I am sceptical about. The Chinese authorities might not be interested and act on a threat based on email.

So, should I contact the local authorities or not?
Should I contact my conculate?

Yeah, go to the PSB with someone who speaks Chinese. If that doesn't work contact the local Foreign Experts Bureau before you go to the Consulate General.

Hey there! What a story!

Well, I got a lot of feedback for you on this!

1. I have actually had my life threatened once in China when I was in Beijing. All over a stupid taxi fee to the Great Wall. That's another story though. Anyways, nothing ever happened of it, but I can relate.

2. As for the message you received. When you copied and pasted your original message, you blanked out some of the letters in the name of the Company. You didn't blank out enough. It's pretty obvious what company you're talking about, and there's complaints about them all over the net.

3. Whoever wrote you this message certainly has a good command of the English language. I guess my question is, does this company have foreigners in management that would send you a message like this? The company I work for is all Chinese. If I got a message like that, I would know it is not for real. They have good English skills but to use all of these idioms and slang would be a real shocker for me.

4. Agreeing with everyone here. Post post post. My saying (especially in China) is "If you do something stupid, except to be treated as stupid." I'm sure if they don't want bad publicity and are willing to threaten you, they're not expecting a reaction as such.

Anyways, I really wouldn't worry so much about it. It sounds like it was written by a foreigner, and if it was, I very much doubt they have the connections to cause you any serious harm.
