Roughly translated, it means one who looks down on another person or another group of people as being inferior. Which best describe the Chinese who think that anyone with a white skin is better at teaching English than someone with brown skin.

Tony I suggest looking at International Schools. I think they are alot more open-minded then most. I would forget private language centers. I think some of the more serious universities would also be worth a look.

I still remember what one Chinese man In Fujian said in a Yahoo chat room years ago. He said, and I quote, that the Chinese are the most discriminating people in the world. They discriminate anyone considered an "outsider". For example, let's use Qingdao as an example. Qingdao, like many Chinese cities, has satellite cities. People in those cities like Jiaozhou, though also considered as being Qingdaonese, speak with a different Qingdao accent. Therefore, when in Qingdao local Qingdaonese would know they are not from Qingdao itself and would consider those people to be inferior as compared to an "actual" Qingdaonese. Same thing in Beijing, native Beijingnese would look down on someone from rural areas of Beijing -- all because those people are not from metropolitan Beijing.
