Ok, it has been established that baba Alex and Molly are in the news. I heard that I was on tv last night- I was sitting next to the blond haired judge from Turkish fame acadamy on Nevizade when he got interviewed. I have been on tv before/ in the papers before and will explain later. So what is your claim to to fame? |

According to my Oxford Learner`s Pocket Dictionary a tefl nazi is:
''a tefler is someone who is wildly excited by tefl and reads, writes and talks tefl ad nauseum.''
BTW I stayed in the same hotel as him and had drinks with him. He was trying to pull a very handsome student and I have always wondered if he did pull. |

Thanks to my wife working for Anavatan, Mesut Yilmaz was supposed to have turned up as a witness for our wedding. Unfortunately(?), the coalition governement of the time decided to collapse the day before, so Mesut had to stay in Ankara to try & become P.M. all we got instead was a lousy Finance minister - Ozdemir, if I recall correctly.
Mesut did phone us the following day though.
I also once got chatting with that utter knob who's a gameshow host *beep* light entertainment dork - can't remember his name, rather camp, wears glasses, presented carkifelek in the nineties. He was making a 'comedy' about the Byzantines in Aya Sofia.
Also knew (slightly) the chaps from Grup Vitamin (remember them?) |

Remember Miss Turkey who came second in Miss world. The papers claimed that she didn't win because she couldn't speak English. My mate used to teach her |

No but I used to be a tefl nazi. I used to go to EFL conferences and even gave a paper at one once. I went to the IATEFL conference when it was in your home town. (at Herriot Watt) |
