Having lived in Japan for almost 2 years I can say without a doubt that the best value for money product or service in this country is the shower in the departure lounge at Narita Airport.

This thing has to be experienced to be believed Exclamation For the pittance of 300 yen you get 30 whole minuets of hot water at a presure that could easily wash elephants in the circus (Sienfeld fans will know what I am talking about). As an added bonus you get clean, fluffy towels, a hair dryer, soap, shampoo, conditioner, moisturiser and other stuff I don't even know the name of Shocked

You want to know how much I love this shower? I live in Nagoya and I am looking forward to the 6 hour bus ride to Tokyo (yeah, I could go shinkansen it is expensive) to catch a flight out of Narita just so I can use the shower Very Happy and after the 6 hour bus ride I need it Embarassed OK, saving 15,000 yen on my ticket to Thailand a consideration, BUT THE SHOWER Exclamation Very Happy

What is the best value product or service you have encountered in Japan?

T

It's a tossup between the 100 yen onigiri at my school, or the video player that records without TV commercials in the final tape.

At Don Quixote, you can get chuhai for about 108 yen a can. Now that's a deal, I'd say.

And the other wonder deal is Matsuya (in Kanto region, anyway) where yo ucan get a half decent dinner for about 500 yen. Gyudon, soup and a salad. That's cheap.

I think the best buy in Japan is the 10,000 yen ticket on JAL to anywhere in Japan. Within two weeks of your birthday you can go to anywhere in Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa. Also you you bring another body with you for the another 10,000. So it will cost only 20,000yen roundtrip for one.

Thats a good deal for Japan.
