Hey guys. I am working in Ireland over summer but am desperate to get back to Spain and enjoy some hot weather. I was researching on the internet recently and found an interesting offer. It was for 28.5 hours a week and pays between 980-1100 a month. Is this enough to live off in Madrid? I am a bit skeptical because it is so expensive to live here. |

A thousand a month is a bit tight to live on here, that is if you want to go out and take advantage of the nightlife a bit, which is the point of this city. The wage works out at nine euros an hour: do they pay for twelve months a year so youll get holidays? Is it all in one place so you wont have to mess about travelling?
I have to say its not an amazing offer - it does seem like an awful lot of work for not all that much cash - but it would get you established here until you can pick up other stuff (save up a bit of cash to get established, youll need a thousand even if youre walking straight into a job) - dont forget that you should be on (minimum) 12 euros an hour for in-house academy work, and 15 an hour for business stuff. Privates should be 15 an hour minimum - accepting any less hurts us all! |
