Does anyone know if there are many schools around or near the Shida area of Taipei??

There are quite a few schools in the ShiDa / TaiDa University area of Taipei. Your best bet is to simply walk around the area and get the telephone numbers off the signs in front of any school in the area you want to work in. Then give them a call and ask for an appointment.
It may be possible that you are using one of the mutated spellings of the area in question. Try locating it on a map and check the spelling.
There are several variations in the spelling of names and most of the local population has not been taught the romanization forms of Chinese.

Are you asking about English schools for work, or Chinese schools for study?

I assume that it is the former and agree with Aristotle that there are plenty of schools around there.

well my friend lives there and he says its the best area of Taipei in terms of bars and culture. Im ust curious, because until Ive had a look myself, im not really sure where we will end up.
