rent varies greatly in the centre. it really depends on what you are looking for. You said that you had been to Istanbul before so I presume you know Taksim square. that is the centre centre but places like Sisli, Mecidiyekoy are only ten minutes by metro and much cheaper than Cihangir. Besiktas is just a few bus stops away. Istanbul is a big big city. When you mentioned suburbs i thought of places that justme mentioned. Way too far out for me.
