That would most likely be true given the obsession with all things "American".
Schools like Hess as an example, take non-americans and canadians, however they ask you to speak with a North American accent at times. Shane on the other hand has a lot of Britts and Kiwis working for them and do not ask for the accent. Shane = UK.
Cheers. |

Yeah, which is why American news organizations hire Canadians to be their anchors. Most owners of buxibans can't tell the difference between a South African accent and one from Dixie. |
I'm not sure what you're trying to say there, but whatever it is, I don't think it's related to what I said.
The American accent is preferred here. That's not really up to debate. If you say that a Taiwanese can't tell an American accent from a Canadian then I'd agree -- most Americans and Canadians can't either unless a Canadian let's an "eh" slip or some such. However, a Tawianese can tell an American passport from a Canadian one, and that's what they'll base their preference off of.
Ifall.[/q you're saying that the reputation of Americans and Canadians is identical, then I've had a different experience than you, that's uote]
generally speaking, Canadians have a reputation for being pushy and uptight when it comes to what they expect from their employers, whereas Americans are often seen as drunken womanizers. six of one, a half dozen of the other, at the end of the day, both are troublesome. We need more people from the rest of the anglosphere. |
