| Oooh, nice. I haven't heard that one. We kind of agreed about Dilara, but I used to know a Dilara I didn't like that much. Maybe she'll be out of my head by the time we have kids though.... |

i had a bunch of girls in my class this year. names: ceyda, ceni, asli (no dot on i), eda, yasmin, nazli (again no dot), and tacmin. i was told that the name tacmin was really different by the turkish women i worked with. they had never heard of it before.
i picked the names of the kids i liked. i hate it when kids spoil names for me |

| Even worse, we finally had agreed on Cem as the perfect boy's name-- my husband liked it because he's Alevi and I liked it because it sounds like James, for my grandfather and my favorite uncle. But then his uncle had a baby in Feb and stole the name! |

oh that sucks! but you know what, i had a really fat kid who used to stuff so much food in his mouth he would shove his fingers in his mouth to keep the food from coming out so he could eat it all. his name was cem and watching him eat ruined that name for me. i'm sure you and your husband will come up with something perfect...
also in my school we had kids with english names too. they were all the kids that gave out easter eggs baskets but i don't know if they had a turkish name too (i don't think so). but i had a kid named efe alex (the alex because his mom was spanish). i don't know if it is law that children all have turkish names, but i've heard that it is too. |

BEGGING for HELP[/size] please feel free to come up with boys names that work in Turkish and English. Can is not a choice.

Duman doesn't seem like a very good name...
Adem is nice though. Both Barış and Savaş. Kemal, Karem, Cafer, Yusuf, Davut, Cenk, Kağan, Hasan, Arda (that might sound like a girl's name though), Ayhan, Orhan, Erhan (most the 'han' names seem okay, except Batuhan...), Ibrahim, Mustafa. There's Halil, is there Kalil? I've heard Kalil in English.
Boys names are much easier, I think... |
