Inner Mongolia...small...nice weather...has an airport...few hours from Beijing. That is about all I can find out about it. Anyone passed through there or recall any stories from teachers??/ Thanks... |

Woof!
Wow, Gerard, you're really getting off the beaten path here.
I'm curious...where'd you get the "nice weather" part? Summers not too bad...short and dry. Winters long cold and horrible. Spring...ya know those dust storms that cover North China and make the answer to the question "How's the weather?" to be "Orange!"? Well, here's the epicenter. Mongolia (inner and outer) is literally drying up and blowing away.
Compared to your current home it'll be dry, cold, bleak, industrial, dirty, poor, and backward. There are far fewer foreigners than you have had around you and there will be less to cater to you. Nice people and access to interesting culture, though. And a sincere desire to get the *beep* out of Inner Mongolia makes the girls especially, well, friendly and open-minded.
Get paid well here, my friend.

Huhhot.
I go there every National Holiday. Its a 12 hour train from Beijing. Flights are available. MT has got it down- winters are horrible. Spring is terrible. Summer is not very great. Conditions are generally worse than other places. Convenience and supplies are hard to come by.
Culture is great. The grasslands are great if you go at the right time. Horseback riding on extremely under sized horses is fun, sorta, except that they are untrained horses and my friend literally had to hold on for dear life when his horse started bucking like a bronco. Trips to the grasslands are great, sleep in yurts... waa hoo! But to live there.... Uhh I know someone who did, and he died of a heart attack after a year. Yeah, maybe he had a bad heart, but still the place aint really facilitating.
Work in Dalian or Beijing, and go there for a trip if you like... |

Hmmmm so this is where the "red rain" comes from. Yellow dust or whatever they call it. The bad weather and backwards people I am used to anyway. It only pays 3000 though it is a teachers college whick is a plus. Female students and not too demanding.
Martin K You are pretty indignant for a guy pointing a firearm now aint you. Just joking or as my Aussie friends say -taking the piss.HAHA... |

I, uh, ummm, oh, wow....this is the first I've heard of this, man, and I've been here a long time. I'm so ashamed...what could I have been thinking?
I guess I should put some pants on then, huh?
