Hi,

Thanks for the advice. I mean.....hopefully.....I won't have a problem, really. But...yeah...the job situation isn't looking wonderful...for the long term. I gotta get a job at least...anyway!

As other people are saying here...it might take some research...contacts, further study etc. People have said on these forums, that Kyushu aint the best for job. And I am in Kyushu. I live in Kitakyushu, million people.....but....in honesty.....it really seems like a bit of a neglected city or something. It doesn't seem modern or prosperous at all, like what might fit peoples' images and ideas of Japan.

Fukuoka isn't far away, but once again, I hear it is a tough job market.

About re-locating, i think.....my 'significant other'...likes her hometown and her family....and is actually afraid of earthquakes further north-east into the more urban cities of japan. So.......hmmm.....

You'll see me on other threads, rubbishing korea...a little...warranted...based on things I know is fact there.... But ya know....it was a good little deal for me as a beginner kinda, for one year.....And i am sure it is not the only place or situation for a good deal. Maybe japan too...

I know a guy there saving close to 40 grand US a year, and going out a lot and spending a lot too. Do people have that situation in Japan, in ESL? I suppose so. I maybe be naive about it a bit......maybe you are earning something like that...

Anyhow, I feel a bit greedy thinking about money too much...just gotta give things a go...and who knows the future. Maybe it won't be ESL forever anyway.

C ya....and thanks for tips....good luck with your 'reverse situation' to me...choice to make.

40,000 a year? That would be nice to save in a year.
I don`t know anyone who can do that. Deductions end up being about 18% of my paycheck. In Korea the taxes are less, as is the cost of living, so that`s why people can save a bit. Especially if they don`t live in Seoul.

Thats about $3300 a month or about 350,000 yen a month. You probably looking at a take home pay of 550,000-600,000 yen a month less expenses. Such an income would be impossible on a conversation school or JET teachers salary but quite possible with a university teachers or high school teachers salary, lots of privates and side jobs. Good money but not much of a life if you are working all the time.

Jeeza, you are starting to sound desperate. Why think of the cash all the time? You're newly married, I believe, why don't you just settle down into a comfy job for awhile and try to enjoy Japan?

That's true, moot point. Oh don't worry.....Japan is nice. I often feel guilty about my dislike for Korea as a place...and I knew nice Koreans. But I am appreciating Japan. Anyhow...why even compare with bloody Korea.

Korea was only a year of my life, and Japan is fairly nice in itself anyhows.

You are right though, and I am feeling that way a bit now (get a comfy job, enjoy japan). I have had a few sort promising things in the job hunt...sort of there...

But yep, too true....just get A job....and chill a bit.

Just see what happens huh....

I do feel bloody gaijin-ish here though.
