If anyone else was lucky enough to have seen it,this was a very revealing programme about corruption in Moscow which centred mainly on the real-estates market but gave a frightening portrait of how society in Russia has become today! From ordinary people who lost their houses so developers could build appartments on their land- one of them now has only an old car to live in!!- to a theatre director being threatened by a 'new-russian'conglomerate backed by Lushkov the mayor that will demolish his historic building , a cement factory owner subject to a 'takeover' by gangsters and a woman restauranter whose famous business is about to be closed after the alleged new owner of the building evicts her etc!!Like her mother said, she survived the czars and the communists but will not survive Putin and his cronies!!
Where will it all lead to??I shudder to think! |

I missed the programme also. My wife owns a flat in the Gorki western region of Moscow. She had a meeting for all flat owners. Apparently the local government wants to eventually demolish all the flats, and build houses. As this area has become popular for developement. She fears that the forced purchase of her flat will be well below the market level |
