|
|
Hi there
I'm based in Auckland, NZ and I'm planning to do a CELTA course this Nov 05 and teach english either in Thailand or China next year.
However, Im travelling around China-Tibet-Thailand between Sept and October and wondered perhaps I should go visit some schools there just to have a look and have a feel.
I don't think I'm ready for China yet. I'm more inclined to start my first teaching job in Thailand. I'm quite keen on teaching anyplace outside Bangkok.
Could anyone recommend me a site or perhaps a list of schools I can contact ? Also, is that okay - is that appropriate?
Any feedback or response would be great.
Thanks. |

Come back for more,
Good luck! |

hi kkookie99:
In addition to the resource posted above,
try clicking on The Master Index Thailand 'sticky post' located @ the top of this forum,
and then scroll down to Part II, TEFL in THAILAND category.
You'll find several links within that category which contain
lists of schools, universities & TEFL Thailand resources.
Of course making advance contacts never hurts;
that's how I found my current position ! |

Hi,
Just a quick note, in case you hadn't realised...

Cheers

don't forget to wear decent clothes if you do get to visit somewhere. by decent i mean shirt and tie, pressed trousers and polishable shoes for the men, nice blouse (that covers the shoulders and the navel), knee length (at least) skirt and decent shoes for the ladies.
basically if you show up looking like a smelly backpacker you will be shown the door
do phone ahead to the schools, or email them with your cv. schools are always looking for new staff (big shortages out here in thailand at the mo). some will probably be able to see you even in the holidays because thai staff basically don't GET holidays! |
