From this forum I notice that esl/efl teachers seem to be an unusually contentious bunch, and I wonder if that affects their relationships in a negative way, especially if there are two teacher together. Does anyone know a couple where both are teachers. Is it doable or do teacher partners drive each other crazy?

My husband and I are both ESL teachers, and we've been married for almost ten years. While in Japan, I taught only one class at his university--the rest of my classes were taught elsewhere.

We're facing the big challange starting in October. Both of us will be teaching for the same college in Poland. We'll see if we reach our tenth anniversary intact.

Lucy I'm going to get personal, but I am curious. Did you meet overseas or did you decide to ELS together after you were married.

Have u ever had any disagreements about teaching or do you have an "off-limits" rule?

I'd like to meet a cute EFL teacher. I think that at least we would share common interestes, like traveling and teaching, but I'm still waiting > . . .

Hey! I'm cute. But also a few hundred, if not thousand, miles away. Thats teh problem with efl. Well, contract work in general. Just as you find someone who you migt want to spend some time with longterm, your contract ends, and you get whisked off to the far ends of teh Earth never to meet again.
