Hi. I live in Korea and am traveling to Tokyo in September. I have looked online and see that there are J. Crew and Gap stores in Tokyo. Does anyone know if they carry US size 14-16? Last time I was there, I got size Large, which is good, but I'm wondering about specific sizes 14-16.

Thanks.

try Gotemba Premium Outlets in Gotemba, Shizuoka if you get the chance.
The prices are pretty good. They have lots of stores there, including the Gap.

Gap in Tokyo only goes to size 10 us. I am not sure about jcrew I usually order online as the clothes are half the price compared with the store.

Another word of warning...
I was delighted to find an Eddie Bauer in Osaka and they had my size but everything was marked "P". It took me a while to catch on what this meant until I realised that it was "Petite". Everything in the Ladies section was cut for, um, smaller skeletons. It's not a great look on my 1m78cm frame.

I forgot to mention shoes are also hard to find if you have big feet. Most sizes only go to 24cm.

L.L. Bean has the sizes you want and you can find "L.L. Bean.co.jp" with a google search. I recommend this because if you don't read Japanese you can hit the "translate" button and get some idea of the clothes' description, though you might need to guess a bit because of that weird machine translation. If it's not good enough, you can scoot on over to the L.L. Bean in the U.S site to read their descriptions.

You CAN order online from the Japanese site ( not the translated version) but you have to fill out the order form that's written in Japanese and your computer needs to input your name in kana. But they have a toll-free number and you can order in English and have the stuff sent COD to your door. Usually takes about 10 days to 2 weeks. The fit is North American unless you get the ones labelled "Japan fit".

If you want to try the toll-free line, just ask for English when they answer in Japanese and they will find an English speaker to take your order. S/he speaks good English too; there's no awkwardness at all.

Toll free in Japan: 0120-10-8080
