I am looking for regular TEFL positions in the Middle East. Can anyone tell me what the best internet sites are to apply for available positions. I have applied in Oman so far, but would like to apply elsewhere if possible.

I am really keen to get to the Middle East but don't know where to start.

I currently live in Perth, Western Australia. I will be taking my wife along. She won't be teaching though. I have no dependents.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Steppy-boy.

What is your education? What is your experience?

Have you read around all over these boards? There is tons of information here.

I have a Masters in Education, two Bachelor degrees, CELTA, can teach High School Mathematics and History, English, and have about 9 years experience.

We would love to live and work in the Middle East but don't know where the positions are. We have seen some websites, but any other suggestions on where to look would be helpful.

So, you want to teach secondary school... an international school? If you read about on these boards, there are many of these schools discussed. It is very late for teaching in September though, because paperwork takes a long time.

I'm afraid that I know nothing much about international schools. So, I can't help with websites...

Darn good question!! Laughing

I tend to not even bother to read subject lines since I always read all the threads. If I had to guess, maybe the OP thought one of those 70 might be for him??

If history is anything to go by then these positions will be filled by people from Egypt, Algeria, India and Pakistan and will represent the short fall in available Omani teachers required to teach in schools this year.

Ah... thanks Russell... that makes sense. Considering the numbers studying at SQU in the education college, I wonder why they have such a shortfall. This must be for the schools that are really in the back of beyond.
