|
|
I've already been hired for Geos, and I gave my availablility date as Sept 11th (my brother's bar mitzvah is the day before, and I don't want to miss that). Since the lease is up at my apartment at the end of the month, I thought it would make sense to just move back to my parents' place at the end of August, since I figured they would be sending me out within a week or two of my availability date.
Frustratingly, they still haven't given me a departure date. About three weeks ago, I was told they'd probably know within 7 to 10 days. I called today to check, and they didn't know.
Does this mean it might be awhile before I get sent out? I'm anxious only because if I might get sent out in late Sept., or even beyond that, I'll need to find some kind of temporary work. I've already given notice at my job since I'm going back to the parents' place, which is three states away.
It's not a dire situation... it would be pretty easy for me to find a temporary waitressing job or something. I guess I'm just really excited about going to Japan, and I want to know what kind of time frame I might be looking at. |

If they don't know, and have told you so...
I conclude that they don't know. Which is a pain, and (insert miscellaneous observations about the expectations of the company here).
If you had any idea of your area or trainer, I'd suggest that you call your trainer... but you don't... right? (If they have told you about your school, don't call the school. That may change. Nevermind that the managers often can't speak English.)
Have you already done the pre-departure/pre-teaching training? Or will you do it in Japan? If you're done, you should be close to actually being in Japan.
And hey, I have no idea, either! |
