ok, i'm not understanding anything! this 60 day visa is just weird, and from the looks of things, should i NOT sign any contract with agencies? how did you guys get jobs? directly through the schools? also, is anyone leaving taiwan and kind enought to email me the name of the school so I can send my resume? [email protected] do not prank email me .
last point- where should i go if i don't want to be somewhere super crowded, but that also has an 'artsy fartsy' feel? and is there any jazz thing going on? i know there's lots of karaoke, but it's not my style...
thanks guys! |

I'm not sure what part you are having trouble with. It is a standard 60 day visa for tourism purposes. Just fill out a form.

There would be no point signing a contract with an agent as it is the school that employs you and pays your wages. Feel free to contact agents for job information as one of those jobs might just pan out, but the advice is not to make any comittment to a job until you arrive.

That can be a good idea and site such as www.buxiban.com can be a place to contact schools through. Again, don't make any comittments until you get here.

I assume that Aristotle is referring to Gongguan. This is an area of downtown that tends to attract a lot of young foreigners and local students. I don't know if it really fits your description of 'artsy' but I agree with Aristotle that it is likely the closest fit. It is sort of the western style cafe, bar, and small restaurant area of the city. |
