Iwas reading a post about Turkey and the E.U that was started by Basilthe rat , a few interesting points were made ,I wanted to join in , for a change, but it got locked WHY? Let me guess, someone said something about somebody who took offence and now nobody can say anything about anybody coz someone will pull the plug, right ?
Can I make a small suggestion to all forum users ,when someone starts to antagonize can we trust our mature judgement and ignore İT?
To follow on from that debate I think Turkey has every chance of getting full membership within the next 8 - 12 years getting over the Cyprus issue is just one of many hoops they will have to jump through but its going to happen, what happens to us fellow feflers after that remains to be seen ,but, I suspect very little will change for those of us who are already established here . The newcomers will find it tougher to get in ,guess what ,they are already .

Thanks Ollie. I totally agree with you. However, some times it is difficult not to respond, especially when you think the post is total bs and lies.
I am sure that many posters agree with me. You can have a good life in EFL in Turkey and when people(a person) says otherwise it annoys me.

Yeah, it takes experience to ignore stupidity and ignorance. Best is to select the posters who you think generally contribute nought to any thread and every time the name appear on a thread, don't lay your eyes on the text. unfortunately, this only works if we all co-operate in this way.
lies ?? there are a lot more things to worry about than lies. lets just get on with life n enjoy ourselves.

basil Smile

It annoys me when a person or people who are single and live in an ex-pat enclave talk about leading the ''good life'' yet forget that there are those who support a wife and kids and cannot live in the enclave. Plus if you can live the good life on a tefl salary then why the need to leave, earn a better salary and then come back and preach? If tefl here was so lucrative there would never be the need to leave in order to save.

Yet you find 50 quid a month shocking for a first class gym in Taksim. Some good life.

Sorry 31. I'm married and have a kid coming on the way very soon (next 10 days or so Very Happy ) and I do live the good life. Perhapes your view of what the good life is different from mine, but in the end I know that I enjoy my life, I love my family and friends, and thats all I really need.

Stop sitting in the dark. Look at the sun and try to enjoy life.

Congratulations calsimsek ! Best of luck with the birth & aftermath. Errm, I don't want to get all philosophical everyone, but good means all sorts of things. The Good Life on the other hand was a crap 1970s sitcom about a couple with a goat in the garden and neighbourly tensions resolved in all sorts of gently comedic ways. There's a very good chance you catch it on BBC if you've not seen it before. Babies have the good life -get everything done for them and don't work for a living. But maybe I'm imposing my TEFLer values on them, . I dunno. I'm off for some mother-in-law's icli kofte now, though... They are definitely good.

The Good Life may have been bad but spawned thousands of have a go, live off the land types and she won rear of the year for ages.

Icli kofte is a winter dish. What are you doing eating it in the summer?
