Hello Hannah,
How are you?
I'm planning on doing EBC in either August or September.
Do you have any idea what neighborhoods in Madrid are best to live in?
Would love to hear from you,
Yuri. |

im actually in contact with a friend of a friend that lives in madrid. he hooked me up with a great website to find places and also gave me some tips on good areas to live in. the website is http://madrid.loquo.com/?fix=1 and he said that salamanca area (don't get something in actual salamanca!), anything near the metro stops of arguelles, san bernando, and bilbao are good places to be. he's going to try and help me find a place once he's done with his finals this week. (i dont really speak or read spanish that well) also, just so you know, madrid is supposed to be very very hot in august. that is why i am waiting until sept. to do the program. it will still be hot but not as hot as august. just something to keep in mind! also where are you from? i'm from upstate ny. |

Hi Hannah and Yuri,
I'm enrolled in EBC for August but am going over early for immersion and to look for accomodations. I'll be in Salamanca for two weeks then Madrid for the 2 weeks before EBC starts. If you are still looking for info on where to live I'd be glad to run recon for you, since I'll be looking for the same thing.
I'll keep an eye on this site (as much as I can, I'm trying to figure out Internet and PC setups now) and you can always email me.
Also, am wondering if either of you have decided to sign up for the College of Teachers Cert that EBC recently offered. I posted a question about this on the general board today for advice and look forward to input from others.
See you in Madrid!

Sept, Oct and Nov all seem good months for jobs, but apartments, I remember seeing that many apartments come available around Sept. EBC has a list of housing companies on their web page, spoken to some and they seem ok.

I have to agree with you there Robert.
I found that there were loads of jobs in the new year so that with the strong Euro I earned back my course fee in about 5 weeks. Pretty good huh!
Don't worry about housing, there's usually quite a lot available. Check out In Madrid and The Broadsheet. |

Martyn,
Not sure if you did an August course or are looking into Sept, a friend of mine is looking for someone to take over his apartment, well his room in that apartment. Let me know. |
