ok, to follow on from my topic about Istanbul hospitals, can anyone give a list or some names/webpages of decent full Medical Insurance Companies? has anyone had any particular problems getting reimbursed from any, are there some to steer well clear of? do some pay upfront, then send you a bill for the remainder? any that cover pre-existing problems?
thanks! |

I use Isvire Hayat. They have a website but there's no English.
http://www.isvicrehayat.com.tr
I have had no problems getting money back -direct deposit into my bank account. Some hospitals/doctors accept the card that comes with coverage so you don't pay up front. Others don't. I am sure the big hospitals do.
One type of coverage is pretty extensive- covers check ups, etc. It could cost a foreigner, rough estimate, about 130ytl a month for 10 months(to cover 12 months).
My coverage is only 56ytl/mo for 10 months and but it covers emergencies/hospital stays only. If I just see a doctor because of a headache, it is out my pocket. No problem there. It's the hospital bill that I fear!!
They pay a percentage of hospital bills- but most of it.
I'm covered if I leave the country.
And I didn't need any documentation from a doctor before I signed up. |

our group insurance is with isvicre and it covers everything, though with a 20% copayment for dr and meds. I don't know how much it would be for an individual, but it might be worth checking into. I had Koc Alolianze and it was expensive-- 2500Tl/yr. But I am older than you |
