Hi
I have been offered a contract with KFUPM/JIC through AlFalak, the contract looks like a doctored version of something produced by KFUPM but the role I believe is with JIC.
The information I have received about salary, visa and holidays is very unclear. I would like to know who I could contact directly at these organisations to either clarify things or deal directly with them.
Also anyone that has had recent dealings with AlFalak, I would welcome any advice. I am aware of some past problems but what about the here and now? Accomodation, visas etc? They have offered a business visa that is arranged in Bahrain. Is this normal and will it be good to travel back and forth as and when I want to?
I very much appreciate any help.
Thank you |

Dont do it.
The visa they offer is not for work, so you will not be able to get an iquama, so no multi entry exit. No bank account. You are stuck.
Accommodation is expensive, overpriced.
Even if you finish your contract, you will not be given a letter of no objection, so once you accept their offer, there is no chance of working for anyone else in Saudi.
Holidays will be at somebodys whim, as they are not detailled in the contract, you may get lucky and get the same as other employees, but chances are you wont, you will have to do summer school for no extra. And quite possibly others.
Go direct hire with either KFUPM of JIC, they abide by their contracts, and if you were good enough to be accepted by Falak, you should be accepted by KFUPM direct |

Hi Scot47
Any advice on how one goes about that? I did apply some time ago and was happily making my way through the process and then they (the selection board) went cold just before offer. Any inside info on their tactics?
Thanks |

Well did you decide to head to JIC ?
KSA is very quiet these days - apart from the cops shooting dead members of the "deviant group" in various locations.
I sometimes wonder how many of my ex-students are up north in Ayerak. |
