Does anyone have any information on this school?

Happily they are interested in me and I would love to go work in Poland as I hear good things. They have offered me a great contract so I just want to know if they are a reliable school.

Thanks

MT

women are hot, winter is cold, apartments are old, kids do what they're told. Try reading some of the other posts on this board for a more accurate synopsis.

Ulgh! Gross!

If you mean groceries then my partner and I spend about 350zloty between the two of us every two weeks at the supermarket plus another 30 a week or so at the corner shop for things like fresh milk and bread. So about 500 a month for one person but you can get away with spending a lot less.

Just out of curiosity Mark, could you tell us how many hours they're contracting you for, and what your prospective wage is? Just so we can see what different areas of Poland are like for working.

Yeah of course! 2000 net PLN for 22-26 hours per week, and then if I want more hours during the week and a few more on Saturday's, it's 45 PLN per hour after that.

I got a good teacher reference and the last teacher told me that this is more then enough to live on. In this area of Poland people make about 900 PLN a month and I am getting paid just over twice the local wage. My concern is that I hope it will be enough for me to live on but I am not a luxerous person nor do I demand fancy things. I have travelled threw Eastern Europe many times, living in Hungary for many summer (My dad was born there), so I have an idea of the lifestyle, though Poland will be differant.

Of course it doesn't sound like alot but the cost of living is lower. I got a few Polish friends and in they tell me in Warsaw the salary would probably not be enough but out west it is, so I hope they are right.

Thank for the heads up Alex. Are the food product of a good quality? Meaning fresh and packages well? Do they use lead in the metal cans?

I know that sounds paranoid but I am curious...

Very Happy

Are you going to Poland to teach or learn English?Well yes, there's loads of lead in the tins and the entire population has got v.d. as there's no soap.... and watch out for the malaria...terrible in October....nah don't go to Poland...they still use candles there like the rest of 'quaint' Europe.
Oh mother!
