And, your credentials/background/experience would be...?
Realize, too, that depending on where you go, setup costs for those foreign lands may make a short-term venture such as summer school so pricey that you won't even break even. |

I don't mind not breaking even as long as i get a good idea how i feel about esl teaching.
I have my Trinity Tesol Certificate but no experiance so far-if i can find a summer school that will take me in 2006 it will be my first teaching experience-except in college
Any info will help |

Do you have a bachelor's degree? You will need it to get a work visa in some countries.
How old are you? You have to be 18-30 to qualify for a working holiday visa (no degree needed). |

Brugal, how about doing some ESL work before you head out?? Most places require that you have at least a year. The BC (British Council) adnertises on their website for summer schools, usually in Cairo, Beirut, Damascus, Dubai and also several other locations......IH (also have summer schools) and again you can check on their site...
hope this helps |

Whats IH? never heard of that before.
I don't have a degree but i'm only 21 so i think a working holiday visa is my best bet in most places.
At the minute i only wanna do a summer school to see how i like it-I aint packing up and heading for the hills just yet-want to spend summer 2006 teaching english somewhere (besides the uk) just to get a feel for it and see how it fits-before i commit myself to it long-term.
So can anyone give me info on how to find a job in a summer school-anywhere in the world (once again except the uk)? |

....IH= International House....do a google for both them and the BC and you will find their website, there they have lots of openings...I know a few people who did summer schools with IH and didn't have a degree...also check the TES (Times Educational supplement)
Good luck |

U'r welcome ... yeah I have taught on summer schools in Europe/Mid East as well as several pre sessional courses (thats at universities in the UK)
I loved them all! It's a good way to experience a city that you are not familiar with ...I think it's best to organise something before you go though...but make sure you check out those sites I mentioned, the TES even has a website http://www.tesjobs.co.uk
