Despite the OPs story, I wouldn't not recommend LH as a place to work.

You may end up doing a lot less teaching than other schools due to the travel you invariably need to do, as most classes I taught were off site.

You'll need a sense of humour to deal with the way the school is run. G.P does a lot of teaching, and leaves a lot of the admin to his Japanese staff of which there were three when I was there, all three being extremely error prone, but I enjoyed having my schedule faxed to me every day, and I enjoyed being allowed to just get on with it without being micro-managed.

You'll do a lot of corporate classes as well, which suits some people.

It's not the best place to teach in Japan, but nor is it the worst. Just try and avoid being based in H.O, and things will be fine.

Don't mean to be persnickety about quoting, but I wish people would not put words in my mouth. I never met the wife nor did I say anything about her despite having the quote attributed to me TWICE. I think it was PaulH who said that. Wish the moderators would remove my name in those posts.
