Lots of furniture stores in Belgrano Ave. also another place to find lots of furniture is in Paternal neighborhood there's street called Gavilan.
But all this stuff is new and you may find it pricy. Guillebaires gave you a good option, Mercado Libre it's like Ebay.
Also you may want to visit Fravega or Garbarino for all sorts of appliances.
http://www.fravega.com.ar or http://www.garbarino.com.ar
Easy Home Center (like Lowe's or Home Depot), usually has great offers on furniture, not expensive and fearly good quality, same for appliances.
http://www.easy.com.ar, although you may want to visit one of their stores, since the website is not really helpful.
Here to help
Cheers

BA Tip-
Palermo Hollywood has some really incredible stuff in the Pulgas market and the shops around there. The furniture there is bit older, but the surrounding area has just about anything the design center does.. which is also an option, but not for me. It is too $$$$ expensive. I'd try the market, i had a great picnic table made there, however, I also had some trouble with a tapicero in that area, it's not advisable to go there if you only speak English however. I woud bring a local if you have the option.
It's nice that Mercado libre is around too, but it is not really all that much like ebay actually, I have had friends that have had huge problems with it, whereas ebay is a cinch with insurance, reliability, etc. mercado Libre is a few years off, if not completely... off. Remember, the web is not something that we deal with alot in Argentina, you need to see things in person or you will more than likey not have the smoothest experience.
