If you were teacher in middle school and since you are only foreign english teacher you don't teach to all the classes in your school. You are done for your day and already planning to go home. You are dead tired after 6 classes. One girl comes up and wants you to help her and other students now.Remember it's your free time. You ultimately go because you really don't want to sound mean or asking extra money or something and you are happy to help. When you go to the classroom students don't know you. You have still not said a word but one of the students tell you to leave like " Go Go". They didn't have any
activty or something to do.The student told to leave because he can't understand.
Students are 15 years old so it's not that small kid is telling you to leave.
What would be your first reaction ?
How would you manage that ?
Do you do any favors or just say no? |

I'm not really sure wht you are talking about but i'll give it a shot.
You went to a class you don't have as a favour to a student and one of the other students in the class told you to leave. Is that it?
I would say ok, leave the class and then, if I was ever asked by any other student to come to a class, I would say no and explain the story as to why.
Remember this is just a shot in the dark, I really don't understand what you wrote. |

| Stil, I was thinking much the same. As it goes, in my last contract I circulated among several schools on a weekly basis. I tried to be availalble as much as possible, both for the students and for the CTs. In practice this meant getting to the school as early as possible and staying as late as consistent with getting to the next school in good time. So guess where I could always be found? In the staff room for the apropriate grade for that day. (Or the foreign language room, if there was one) Sure enough, people who wanted me could find me. And as daunting as it can be for a junior one student to enter the teachers' room, it is also a sign of respect, both for the FT and for one's self, when they did venture forth. |

stil : You got it right.
What I meant was that one student (girl) came up and asked me to do class but some students who doesn't understand English and don't want foreign teachers completely because they don't pay. Not even for 2 mins. they can listen or learn English surprised me and told me to " GO GO". I felt that I was being nice by going there at the first place. I wasn't interested to go but that girl was really keen in making difference and wanted her classmates to learn English and help them that is why she told me to come. |

| Well, the girl and others might have wanted to improve, but maybe some of the students hate English class. When i was in high school and i had a free period, i didn't want little Miss. keener bringing in "The calculus expert" into the classroom and certainly not without asking the rest of the class if it's ok. No reason why they should want to be subjected to extra class time if they don't want it. |

Btw. Rocknroll,
You write in a way that I am unfamiliar with. I have some difficulty understanding your posts. Reminds me a bit of my own students. |

I'm sorry but I'm still not certain what the OP is trying to say. I'm guessing by reading your posts that English is not your first language? Or are you writing in a shorthand that you've used most of your life?
Why would you go into a classroom (during classtime?) to conduct an English lesson? Or are you going into a room when there are no lessons and trying to conduct an English lesson? Are other students there trying to study other subjects at that same time? Can you find a different place to "tutor" these students that have asked for your help? How many students, exactly, are asking for help?
My advice is to meet this girl and other students in a friendlier place such as a park, a library, or a coffeeshop. There you can have an "English Corner" kind of environment - - just make sure you are not meeting only one "girl" there - - that may be viewed as inappropriate. |
