Nice try but no. I worked part time for Interlang in the mid 90s. I met Levent many times but never had a problem with him or Interlang. It did have a good reputation at the time but paid its full timers below average rates.
Check with someone like justme as there cannot be many who ended up in such an unfair situation. |

Then you won't mind me continuing then. |

Justme, I'm sorry you got ripped off, but it really is not ET's fault-- or mine. Obviously, levent is the one lacking principles here. |
Actually, all of what I've said here is unrelated to ET or Molly-- I didn't mean to imply that. Just I get all mad again whenever I read about Interlang. Obviously it was Levent. At the time, it felt like being jerked around by the ET management, but in retrospect, they were just telling us in the polite(ish) Tukish way, 'No, you'll never see your money in a million billion years, please stop bothering us.' Hence the addendum.
Whether Jackie knew what would happen or whether she got paid is probably something I'll wonder about til the day I die.
In fact, for the OP's benefit, none of what I say has anything to do with the original question. It's just a usual Justme 'I Really Wish I Had That $2500' rant...
On the other hand, s/he should search the forum to read about Interlang's more recent shenanigans, which also have nothing to do with ET (directly) or Molly (in any way whatsoever)...

Agreed Compared to EC and IH at the same time interlang teachers were paid less. |

It has everything to do with ET as it is owned by ET. ET are milking its former reputation until the cash cow is dry and then it will become another bucket shop. |

I know it's the same owners, but with the speed that the new management has wrecked Yeni Interlang, it seemed to me the management job was given to someone's idiot nephew in law (or whatever) as a favor to grandpa because the poor guy doesn't even know how to type, and Molly's ET per se doesn't have much to do with it.
But maybe it's all a Big Conspiracy and Everyone's In On It. Whatever. I just really wish I had that $2500 bucks.
Maybe if I keep saying it enough times, someone will give me my $2500 bucks... |

I wanted to say reading or re-reading The Alchemist might help but not for long.
I recently read Eleven Minutes, also by Paulo Cuelho and it took my mind off things for a while.
Lorazapam but use sparingly. |

You really know how to humiliate a person by summing up their whole life in a single sentence. |

There are far too many threads being hijacked, derailed and otherwise going up in flames on the Turkey Forum by the often very tenuous introduction of ET into the thread. There are far too many complaints being received by Moderators because this is happening.
This derailing and such is being done by a very small group of individuals. Members are tired of this. They want this forum to be a place where threads are not hijacked, derailed or otherwise spun off course because of a very few members' agendas either in introducing ET into a thread or feeling compelled to respond as a result of its introduction.
As a result, if this continues, the members involved in causing such threads to be hijacked, derailed or spun off course will be immediately sanctioned.
Such sanctions may include banning, temporary or permanent, as the situation warrants.
Members are encouraged to use the Reported Post function to advise Moderators of behavior such as the above. |

So fast forward to May 2006.
What is Interlang like these days? As a sister school of ET, does it have the same negative reputation?
I hear almost nothing about this school these days. I walked into the Taksim branch a few months ago. I think every wall of every floor I was on, was this BRIGHT yellow. Thought I was in a lemon.
However, curious to know. Interlang and Berlitz are two schools I hear very little about. I'm wondering if the lack of complaints means, life there isn't so bad.

The only complaint that l've heard is the low hourly rate....But people are willing to work for that much, so it can't be all that bad. A lady l work with is changing to Berlitz. She is going to get 1500ytl for 25 hours a week, but if she works over 25 hours, she will get 18ytl an hour. Not too shabby! |

..actually, it might have been 1500ytl for 20hrs. Anyway, she is a lady who likes to work about 40hrs a week, so if the hours are there, l think it's not a bad deal. |

This has noting to do with either E.T - I.L - I.H or any of the other letter schools.
I was just offerd 50 ytl an hour for in-house company work. So theres alot more choice out there than just the low paing letter soup schools. |

Yes. I believe that there is life after language schools, but taking the first big step is difficult. My cousin and l both arrived here together over six years ago. I have taught in languge schools all that time. However, she has been working in a property consulting company since her arrival. |

Walk into one of the large chain schools, say in Istiklal opposite Cicek Pasaji and meet some of the teachers, then you will realise why they are not working for the highest paying private unis in Ist.
You will probably marvel at how they can be employed by the worst language school in Ist. |
