"If you look on the idea of a "dress code" with horror as an interfeerence with your personal freedom, how will you react to all the other restrictions here ?"

I never said anything of the sort. I was just asking questions. I had a set of locks while I lived in Taiwan. I saw that it was getting in the way so I cut them. I have no problem dealing with rules and regulations... i know how to play the game Wink

Playing the game is what life is about, no matter where you are. Laughing That said, the Gulf is a rather conservative traditional culture and they tend to expect us to fulfill their expectations as to how 'westerners' look and dress on a professional basis. They don't expect Wall Street, but they don't much appreciate counter-culture styles.

Thank you for your kinder reply Wink

That is what i assumed, but wanted to ask just to be sure. Recently I have been mulling over the idea of having locks again. But knowing that I will just have to cut them off in 2 years is keeping me from growing a set.

Yes, Scot47 can be a bit of a grouch sometimes, but the rest of us are used to him... (and he is much kinder and gentler than he used to be... apparently mellowing with age...)

A friend of mine turned up for work on the first day with shoulder length hair and was immediately told to go to the barbers to get it cut. Funny though because alot of students had quite long hair under their gutras. The mullet was particulary popular!
