I'm a female looking for a decent/safe hotel near the airport in Bangkok for an overnighter before I head south for my teaching position. Does anybody know of a good one? One that's safe/clean/close to airport or has airport shuttle? Please post as soon as possible - arriving early October and trying to book ASAP.
Thanks!
Kerri
P.S. Please let me know if there is one I should really stay away from as a single female traveler. Thanks a lot. |

Hi Kerri,
Check out www.sawadee.com for a long list of bkk hotels, and a fair few near the airport. The price is shown on the front page so you can choose your budget and then click for all the facilities / services. You can also book online. Good luck !

P.S. Where down South are you going to be working ? What are the conditions, pay etc ?! |

Kerri,
In addition : As far as safety goes, all the hotels have numerous staff and security visible all the time and this shouldn't be a worry at all. Thailand is a pretty friendly and safe environment in my experience.

In addition to the good link & advice above,
here's a concrete recommendation, Kerri:
Comfort Suites Airport Bangkok
2 km from the airport
free shuttle bus
online booking
3 star rating
$38 per night (1,500 Baht)
which is not exactly cheap,
but not expensive for the location.
Traffic around the airport can be really bad.
