Hello,
I saw a job advertised in the JT on Monday for a senior high school, and a junior high school. I'm thinking about applying but have to say I have never heard of the company LSJ. Does anyone know about them, such as how much they pay, how much work they want you to do and if they pay holidays. I have heard of Interact, JET, but not this company. Also does someone have the company phone number because I don't have a fax. I also saw an advertisment for Interact what are they like by the way, they sound not so good from what I read here.

Does anyone have any information? I'm going to send off my resume. What is a part time position like? Anybody!!!
I guess Interact is out of the question, they seem pretty bad I think I answered my own question.

tigerwood,

I, too, am at a loss. I take it that there was no website info provided in the ad. You might, if you haven't already, do a google search using "LJS Japan" or something to that nature. I'm going to give it a try myself. If I find anything I will post it.

Keep in mind this website:

http://www.interacunion.org/

Union's don't come into existence because a company is wonderful.

Uh, yeah - they do. *sigh*

They can be a hedge 'just incase', even for a good company.

What does LSJ stand for? Nothing on the net, and the only thing that comes close is Lingo School Japan in Takamatsu and we all know about that one.

PS JET is not a company but a government run exchange program and the name of the other school is Interac.

Even good companies break the law sometimes by putting illegal clauses in their contracts and saying you cant do things which he has no right to. You might think they are OK to work for becuase you have a 'nice' boss or cushy work conditions but not even realise you are being disadvantaged or that you are not getting what you are entitled to.

A union is there to ensure that your employer observes the labor laws, not so you can be entertained by your job by having a 'good' employer in your estimation.

There are a few really pro labor companies out there... I just don't think any of them are located in Japan ;)

I don't know about LSJ but I'll most likely be applying to Interac for next year. They don't seem that bad, really. If you compare Interac to, say, W5, Interac looks like a damn good place to work if you ask me :)

Thanks SoT but I want to work in a real school and have real hours. I HATE sitting in a chair all day teaching boring adults. Much better to be paid to play with kids and get to move around. Oh and the nice summer vacation is a plus too.

Sorry I don't have it anymore. Since my first question I have got a job with another company that seems fine so far. I don't have Interac or LSJ phone number. If you want to find out more about LSJ ask Guest of Japan he works for them, he have their contact details. He also told me about them and how bad they are.

I can only tell you what I was told by Guest of Japan. I have cut and pasted his message. LSJ is not Lingo School Japan I don't know what it stands for. Here is Guest of Japans message.

Edited by Moderators for two reasons:

1. Private messages are not meant to be made public.
2. The author of the private message explicitly stated in the message to NOT post such publically.

Not appropriate.
