|
|
I am looking for information about Srithammaratsuksa School. They are interested in hiring me and I wanted to know if anyone knew about the school or the area--it's located in Nakhon Srithammarat, a province in the south of Thailand. Anybody have any information or advice?
What I know about the school so far:
The school is run by the Church of Christ.
The school has about 4.500 students from kindergarten to high school.
It pays a little less than Bangkok
It's in a remote area--few westerners from what I've heard.
Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Comment in the office-not my own opinion
-Very religious school
-9 or 10 foreigners working there, Americans, Australians, etc.
-expensive for students
-full ep program
-get off your lazy rear and take a look at it
-they have a EP website but it's all in Thai
-I wouldn't work there because you have to pray and do this or that
-Each to their own I suppose.
From me:
I don't really know the students, but Nakhorn is a nice place to live for a southern thai city. It seems a-ok. What more can I say? Havent been here long enough to make other comment other than I am happy here. |

Update:
I think it is time to update this post now that i have a lot more information about the school:
1) You do not have to pray at the school if you do not want to. Sure it is a Christian School but a vast majority of the students are Buddhist. I don't even know where the chapel is on campus.
2) The wages are the highest in the province and one of the best in southern Thailand.
3) Workload is very manageable.
4) Co-workers are excellent and the school director is very kind and actually takes a personal interest in teachers.
5) The support is great. Books for every class. Excellent resource room and library, high speed internet with wi-fi.
6) There are close to 20 foreign teachers working at the school and the teachers get along. We have three foreign managers who are easy to deal with and are experienced and capable teachers.
7) Free Thai food every day at lunch
The city is great.
I do know the school is hiring for teachers right now. You can find their ads either on the Jobs Board here over on Ajarn.com or you can just pm me and I can get you in touch. |
